There aren’t many places to sell short stories online. This can be frustrating for both writers and readers, as it means writers have a difficult time building a writing portfolio and amassing readers without giving their work away for free and then creating the expectation that all their work will be free in the future. Readers suffer, too, because they have to wait (and hope) that an anthology of the writing will eventually get published, which is unlikely because anthologies don’t tend to sell well. Strangers in The Dark With Liquor And Literature
I live inside my head, for the most part, so it doesn’t often occur to me that I should experience things outside of it. I’ve heard that you can be inspired to write better by having more experiences, though, so when a friend invited me to attend and then grab dinner at a local restaurant I hadn’t tried, I agreed. I Am The Thing That Stalks The Corridors
I was pretty sure I was going to be a veterinarian when I grew up. That, or a rich actress. At 39 I haven’t exactly had a “career”, jumping around between working at banks, a library, and various management roles instead. I’m working on finishing up two degrees so I can hopefully pursue a masters in library sciences (just in time for Trump to shut down library funding, whee!), but for now, I find myself working as the general manager of an indoor storage facility.
