Comfort Characters

In many ways, my comfort characters are just niched down examples of my favorite pieces of media. Which is likely because I care more about whether a story has good characters than whether anything particularly huge happens to them (ordinary lives are pretty fascinating things).

I have an easier time relating to and sympathizing with characters than I do actual people (it is so, so much easier to forgive a person for accidentally backing into you when you know they have a fascinating backstory…rather than just they’re absent-minded or were distracted). So yes, some of these characters are “evil”.

I am going to be very not normal about these characters.
